Indonesia-based cement producer PT Semen Padang said it plans to start construction of its sixth line at the end of 2013 to meet growing national demand for cement.
"Groundbreaking ceremony will take place soon for the IDR3.5trn project," Munadi Arifin, the president of the company told local press.
The new production line, named Indarung VI, will have a production capacity of 3.5Mta and bring the company’s total capacity to 10.5Mt, he added.
In mid-June, Semen Padang also marked the construction start of a 0.9Mta grinding mill at its plant in Dumai, Riau.
