Substantial rises in Russian cement production and consumption have been achieved in 1H13. SMPro analysts state that Russian cement producers achieved an output of 7.1Mt of cement in June, the highest monthly production in 2013.
Meanwhile, cement consumption rose by 4.8 per cent compared to June 2012 and by 14.6 per cent with May to 7.5Mt. Russia's overall 1H13 production total was 29.9Mt, a 7.7 per cent YoY increase, while cement consumption is estimated at 31.5Mt for the same period, up 7.5 per cent YoY.
Imports similarly saw a rise of 11 per cent to 2.4Mt, while exports increased significantly by 29.1 per cent to 808,000t. The average producer price per tonne of cement was 1.5 per cent higher and came to RUB2843 (€65). At the same time, the buying price including VAT and delivery costs amounted to RUB3880 (€89).
In 2012, 61.5Mt of cement were produced domestically and 65.2Mt of cement was consumed in Russia, with 5.1Mt of cement imports.
