Brazilian cement sales in during December 2013 remained stagnant at 5.1Mt compared to the same month of the previous year, latest data from local association SNIC shows.

In the final quarter of 2013, sales increased by 2.7 per cent. In the first, second and third quarters sales increased by two, 4.4 and 4.2 per cent respectively.

These preliminary results indicate that for 2013, sales by domestic producers into the market were 70Mt compared to 68.3Mt the year before, a rise of 2.3 per cent.
