Zuari Cement, part of the Italcementi group, has been recognised as an 'Outstanding Company’ in the Indian cement sector at the 4th EPC World Awards 2013, having previously received the accolade in 2011.  Zuari Cement was rewarded for its industry performance, originality and state-of-the-art operations.

The EPC World Awards acknowledge the achievements of the companies and individuals from the infrastructure, construction and real estate sectors. Over the years, EPC World Awards have evolved as the national platform and are viewed as one of the best industry recognition awards in India.

Zuari Cement has a total cement manufacturing capacity of 6.2Mta in India, which includes two integrated factories at Sitapuram and Yerraguntla, along with a grinding centre at Chennai.

With over a five per cent market share in south India and sales of over EUR249m in 2012, Zuari Cement has chalked out ambitious plans for the future. This includes strengthening its presence in Maharashtra, Orissa, west Bengal and northeast markets.

The company is currently establishing a 3Mta cement plant in North Karnataka and a large grinding unit is also being erected at Sholapur, Maharashtra. Moreover, a cement terminal is being developed at Kochi, Kerala. A captive power plant at Sitapuram with a capacity of 43MW augments the power capabilities of the company.
