Tunisia: Carthage 1Q14 turnover rises sharply

Carthage Cement reported a turnover of TND41.95m (US$26.45m) in the three months to March 31, 2014, up 337 per cent compared to the same period in 2013.

Clinker sales reached TND16.78m during the first quarter, while sales of cement amounted to TND17.10m, including TND3.95m for export.

Clinker production reached 234,084t, while cement production was recorded at 136,083t for the period.

The production of aggregates in the quarry of Jebel Ressas posted an increase of 29 per cent during the first three months of 2014, compared to the same period of 2013.

Production of ready-mix grew five per cent in the first quarter 2014 compared to the same period of 2013.
