The ancillary services procurement agreement (ASPA) between the National Grid Corp of the Philippines (NGCP) and Apo Cement Corp (ACC) has been approved by the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC).
The agreement states that ACC will provide ancillary services from its Apo Cement power plant with the capacity of 69MW. It may only nominate the available capacity of the said plant for the ancillary services. However, since the contract is on a nonfirm basis, it has the right not to nominate any capacity even if it is available
“As an initial evaluation of the instant application discloses that the ASPA entered into by and between NGCP and ACC will REDOUND to the benefit of the consumers in terms of continuous, reliable, efficient and affordable power supply as mandated by the Electric Power Industry Reform Act,” said the ERC in an 11-page decision docketed on May 12.
