Chennai-based Ramco Group is planning to establish a cement plant in Kurnool district, Andhra Pradesh (AP).
A Ramco delegation headed by company Vice Chairman, PR Venkata Ramaraja, met with AP Chief Minister N, Chanadrababu Naidu, and indicated an interest to set up the cement plant with an investment outlay of INR5bn.
The Ramco team requested the State Chief Minister provide necessary land to develop the plant and to facilitate the necessary clearances to develop the rail line as this would be useful for other projects in the area. The Chief Minister, meanwhile, assured the cement producer of state government support.
Ramco indicated that it new facility set up near Visakhapatnam, AP, would also be ready for commissioning next month.
