India’s largest cement producer, UltraTech Cement, has added to its dealer network following the acquisition of Jaypee's cement assets in the western state of Gujarat.
Dealers in Gujarat, who were earlier part of Jaypee Cement’s network, now come under the UltraTech Cement fold, further strengthening the company’s customer reach, reducing lead times and enabling more efficient distribution.
UltraTech is currently supplying various infrastructure builds in Gujarat including projects in the power sector, roads and bridges, townships and factories. These include the Bandra-Worli Sea Link, the Monorail Project and the T2 airport terminal in Mumbai, all the Metro projects in the country, the refinery in Jamnagar, Golden Quadrilateral Road Project and many major nuclear, thermal and hydroelectric projects.
Speaking of the company’s extended reach, OP Puranmalka, managing director, of UltraTech Cement said: “Over the past 10 years, we have enhanced our brand and product offerings continuously. From the year 2004, when UltraTech started with a capacity of 17Mta, to the year 2014 when we are at 62Mta, it has been an exhilarating journey for the largest and youngest national brand in India’s cement history.
“Our new employees and dealers in Gujarat come with deep industry experience across the market. We will continue to work closely with our people, process and product enhancement in the time to come. This will contribute greatly to UltraTech’s target of 70Mta by 2016.”
Earlier this year, UltraTech Cement completed the acquisition of Jaypee’s integrated plant at Sewagram and a grinding unit at Wanakbori, both in Gujarat states. The acquisitions lifted UltraTech’s cement capacity to 62Mta.
