State-owned Vietnam Cement Industry Corporation (Vicem), the country’s leading cement producer, said it sold 16.14Mt of cement and clinker in the first nine months of this year, up 1.6 per cent from a year ago.
Of the total, 13.7Mt of cement and clinker were sold in domestic market, down 4.7 per cent YoY, while 2.43Mt were exported, up 61 per cent.
In the third quarter, the corporation’s cement and clinker output rose 1.5 per cent YoY to 5.3Mt, of which 4.74Mt were sold in domestic market, up 4.6 per cent YoY, while 564,000t were exported, down 18.6 per cent.
Vicem produced 11.98Mt of clinker between January and September, down 1.9 per cent YoY, while its cement output rose 6.4 per cent to 13.23Mt.
Clinker output dipped 0.6 per cent YoY to 4.02Mt in the third quarter, while the cement output rose 10.7 per cent to 4.52Mt.
