State-owned Vietnam Cement Industry Corporation (Vicem) said it sold 1.92Mt of cement and clinker last month, an increase of 3.5 per cent from a year ago.
Of the volume, 1.64Mt of cement and clinker were sold in domestic market, up 1.9 per cent YoY, and 283,000t were exported, rising 14.1 per cent.
In the first 11 months of 2014, Vicem’s clinker and cement sales rose 3.1 per cent YoY to 20.09Mt, of which 17Mt were sold in the domestic market, and 3.09Mt were exports, representing a 3.1 and 52.56 YoY rise, respectively.
In November, Vicem’s clinker and cement output rose 6.7 per cent and 10.9 per cent YoY to 1.45Mt and 1.75Mt, raising total 11-month volumes to 14.93Mt and 16.66Mt, respectively.
As of Nov 31, Vicem had 1.25Mt of cement and clinker inventory, including 960,000t of clinker.
