Cemex has taken delivery of a fleet of new cement mixers after a ground-breaking deal with a leading vehicle solutions firm.

The company ordered 11 of the specialist 26t vehicles as part of a GBP1.2m agreement with Motiva Group.

The deal is the first of its kind between the two companies. “Cemex is a huge business with operations spanning 50 countries around the world, so the fact they’re renewing part of their UK fleet through us is a massive shot in the arm," said Peter Wright, sales director of Motiva.

The DAF CF 330 FAT Euro 6 machines, fitted with McPhee Mixers, were supplied by Heathrow Truck Centre in Reading, UK. Some of the vehicles, valued at GBP108,000 each, are already being put to work at various locations around the UK as part of a 469-strong fleet.

Chris Rose, National Readymix Fleet Manager for Cemex UK, said the initiative with Motiva offers  benefits to both businesses. “We operate the trucks on short-term leases with the option to transfer ownership to independent contractors within the Cemex fleet while extending the lease terms, thus providing a sustainable model for future growth."

“Motiva provide a closed-loop service for maintenance and repairs ensuring the integrity and availability of the fleet operationally," he added.
