US Jan-Nov shipments

Portland and blended cement shipments in the US and Puerto Rico in November were 6.5Mt, essentially unchanged from the level in November 2013, USGS data shows.

The leading consuming states (Texas, California, Florida, Illinois and Ohio, in descending order) received about 39 per cent of the November shipments.

The leading Portland cement producing states in November were Texas, California, Missouri, Florida and Alabama, in descending order. Clinker production totaled 6.8Mt during the month, up by about four per cent from the same period of 2013.

Shipments for the year through November were 82.4Mt, up by about seven per cent from the same period in 2013. Production for the 11 month period totaled 68.5Mt, up by about six per cent. The leading clinker-producing states in November were Texas, California, Missouri, Florida and Pennsylvania, in descending order and these accounted for nearly 47 per cent of the US total.

November imports of cement and clinker of 778,000t were 23 per cent higher than those in November 2013. Imports for the year through November totaled 7.82Mt, up by about 17 per cent from the same period in 2013.
