Cemex has announced that a total of 1800 families in Dominican Republic have benefitted from its Patrimonio Hoy self-build scheme whereby the company helps improve the quality of life of families by helping them carry out home improvements.
As part of this programme, these families receive building materials at affordable prices. Moreover, they also receive technical support and training from Cemex's experts. The initiative has also had a direct positive impact on around 7200 people in the country. It is understood that the coverage of this social programme has expanded by about 60 per cent in the last 12 months, reaching some 204 communities.
