Bangladesh, Indonesia, the Philippines and Taiwan remained among major importers of Vietnamese clinker and cement in the first four months of this year, the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade said.
Bangladesh took the lead after importing 2.62Mt of cement worth US$100.24m from Vietnam in the period, while Indonesia came second with 937,982t worth US$42.39m and the Philippines ranked third with 468,419t worth US$18.43m.
Following on, Taiwan consumed 346,396t worth US$14.81m and Malaysia with 291,934t worth US$12.95m.
Vietnam earned US$265.55m from exporting 6.16Mt of cement and clinker in the four-month period, down 25.2 per cent YoY in value and 26.4 per cent in volume.
In April, the country’s clinker and cement exports fell to 1.61Mt on revenues of US$67.64m, down three and 4.8 per cent compared to the month before, respectively.
