CIMERWA has officially unveiled its modernised plant in Rwanda, which involved making the switch from wet- to dry-process technology and increasing capacity to 0.6Mta.
The company has also installed a 15MW peat-powered power plant, which will help it address unreliable electrical supplies that have caused it to suffer high production costs for many years.
Earlier this year, the company launched its new corporate identity and product packaging involving new logo and bold colours, symbolising the “bright future” and the “refreshing nature of the business as we go through a rebirth and repositioning of CIMERWA,” according to CEO Legodi Busisiwe.
