PT Semen Tonasa cement plant remains in normal operation despite damage causd by a fire on Wednesday to one of its facilities at the Unit IV plant, South Sulawesi, the Jakarta Post reports.

The fire, which broke out at the coal mill transport belt resulted in one fatality with 10 others injured.

PT Semen Tonasa managing director Unggul Attas confirmed on Thursday that the fire did not affect operations at the plant. "The plant remains operating like usual and production is stable," said Unggul.

The fire broke out at around 5:50pm local time on Wednesday and lasted for two hours. Firefighters had difficulty extinguishing the blaze as it was located high up in the plant.
