Brazilian sales over the first eight months of this year fell 6.8 per cent YoY to 43.7Mt compared to the 46.9Mt sold in 2014, according to preliminary data and market estimates gathered by Brazilian cement association Sindicato Nacional da Indústria de Cimento (SNIC).

In August 2015 alone, sales totalled 5.6Mt, down 10.4 per cent YoY. Imports  totaled 46,000t in August, a decrease of 52 per cent compared to the same month in 2014, according to data collected by the SECEX / MDIC.

For the last 12 months (September 2014-August 2015), sales fell 4.2 per cent YoY to 67.7Mt.
