Sri-Lanka based Lafarge Mahaweli Cement celebrated four consecutive years of zero lost time injuries (LTI) with a special event for employees. The company attributed this victory to the global best practices in health and safety, which has been made a core practice for all their employees and contractors.

Congratulating its employees and contractors who helped Lafarge in its health and safety journey, Anurag Kak, Managing Director of Lafarge Mahaweli Cement, said: "This victory comes with active engagement from both our employees as well as our contractors who put in some hard and committed work towards achieving our goal. The fact that we are celebrating zero LTI for four recurring years today is clear proof of how well health and safety is being practiced, and how seriously it is viewed by our employees as well as our contractors."

Athula Karunanayake, Head of Health and Safety at Lafarge Mahaweli Cement, added: "By applying our tools, mechanism and dedication, empowerment and continuation to health and safety, we have made it the credo for our employees and contractors who have helped us to achieve this victory.
