MI Cement Factory has set its sights on organic expansion through the construction of new capacity including its own clinker manufacturing plant over the next five years.
The company, which produces cement under the Crown brand, plans to raise capacity from the present 6000tpd to 10,000tpd by the end of next year. Following on, it plans to increase capacity to 16,000tpd.
“To reach the target, we will go for expansion with necessary investment,” Md Alamgir Kabir, additional managing director of MI Cement, told the Daily Star (Bangladesh).
MI Cement currently imports clinker from Japan, China and Thailand but Mr Kabir added: “We will set up our own clinker manufacturing plant by 2020."
