The JSW Group is set to start construction of a 2.4Mta cement plant in West Bengal, India, with a groundbreaking ceremony to be hosted today.
The event will be presided over by Mamata Banerjee, chief minister of West Bengal. It will also be attended by Sajjan Jindal, chairman and MD of JSW Steel. The function is being held in the run-up to Bengal's 'Global Business Summit' on 8-9 January 2016, which is likely to be keenly watched by potential investors.
The cement plant is expected to be ready for commissioning by the end of 2016.
