State-owned Vietnam Cement Industry Corporation (Vicem), the country’s leading cement producer, said it sold about 22.97Mt of cement and clinker in 2015, rising 4.2 per cent from a year ago and fulfilling 96.3 per cent of the whole-year’s target.
Of the volume, 20.87Mt of cement and clinker were sold in domestic market, up 11.2 per cent YoY, and 2.1Mt were exported, down 35.9 per cent.
In 2015 Vicem’s clinker production climbed 3.8 per cent YoY to 17.12 Mt, while its cement output rose 12.1 per cent to 20.09Mt.
As of 31 December, 2015, Vicem had 1.65Mt of cement and clinker inventory, including 1.33Mt of clinker.
For 2016, Vicem aims to produce17Mt and 22Mt of clinker and cement, respectively. The group also targets combined clinker and cement sales of over 24Mt.
