JK Cement has resumed production at its 3Mta facility in Baglakot, Karnataka, after operations were temporarily halted when the roof of a clinker silo caved in.
"Production of clinker and cement has resumed with operation of the kiln by making an alternate arrangement using two RBC belts for feeding the clinker directly to the cement mill," JK Cement said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
Operations had been temporarily suspended on 27 January 2016 due to the incident. The company added that although production had stopped, cement available at its depots had served the market. Restoration of the clinker silo is expected to take six months.
