The outlook for 2017 for Pioneer Cement Ltd appears to be positive, with major projects related to the company’s growth and energy efficiency expected to make further progress. These projects are forecast to boost the company’s profit margins.
They include the installation of a 12MW waste heat recovery system, due for commissioning in November-December 2016 and a new 2500tpd grinding mill, which will improve production by 25-30 per cent once completed in February-March 2017.
Pioneer Cement also announced its nine-month performance figures for the period ending 31 March 2016. During this time Pioneer’s clinker production increased by 147,424t to 883,934t when compared to the same period in the previous year. Capacity utilisation stood at 59.08 per cent, an improvement of 9.86 per cent. Cement production reached 986,835t. Total sales volumes for the period were up 14.33 per cent compared to the previous year, standing at 988,835t. Pioneer also registered a 13.3 per cent increase in net sales revenue.
