Nepal: permits suspended for sub-standard product

The Nepali Department of Standards and Metrology has suspended the permits issued to Bageshwori Cement and Jaya Mangalam Cement Industries, preventing both companies from distributing and selling its cement products.

Director General of the department, Bisho Babu Pudasaini, said samples had been collected from the companies and analysed. Tests concluded that both were selling sub-standard cement products to its customers.

Bageshwori Cement sells PPC Bajra Shakti Cement, Trishakti Super and JBC Cement brands. Jaya Magalam trades under the brand names of PPC Yeti, JMCS Rock Strong and Gaurab.
