GCC has announced the acquisition of multiple Cemex operations in the USA.

The acquisition comprises a cement plant (Odessa, Texas), two cement terminals (El Paso and Amarillo, Texas) and one construction materials business located in El Paso, Texas, and Las Cruces, New Mexico, comprised of eight ready mix plants, six aggregate plants, five asphalt plants and five distribution centres.

The acquisitions will see GCC’s workforce increase to nearly 3500 employees. No operational closures have been planned as a result of the acquisition and all existing locations will continue their current product offerings.

Ron Henley, President of GCC of America, shared the company’s vision for this acquisition. “By acquiring these operations, we greatly expand our reach in the mid-section of the United States, which means more customers will benefit from a broader and richer distribution network and a more nimble, responsive approach to customer service. We work hard to be recognized for our quality products and service, and the account management we provide; we are committed to maintaining that reputation at every location, providing a seamless transition for our customers,” he said.
