Shree Cement is planning a 5Mta cement plant and a 20MW captive power plant at the villages of Parbatpur and Digha, Tehsil Raghunathpur, dist. Purulia, West Bengal. A railway siding, loading unloading system and residential colony will also be constructed. The total estimated cost of the project is INR6000m. The total land area is 104 acres.
The project is waiting for environmental clearance and Pollution Control Board approval. According to West Bengal Pollution Control Board sources, pet coke and coal will be used as fuel in the boilers of captive power plant. The project will take 20-24 months for construction.
