Brazil: Magnesita installs SAP global management system

Magnesita has adopted SAP ERP to unify business management in 17 countries in which it operates.

The Brazilian refractory company has 27 facilities in 17 countries on four continents, and has just completed the installation of the SAP business management solution to converge its process systems on to one platform.

The Pangea Project, as it was named, considered a global operational platform in a single SAP instance and began in December 2013 with a complete overhaul of the Magnesita operating model and redesign of global processes.

The project indicators show that the company reached 95 per cent convergence in more than 78 macroprocesses and a continuous evolution over the 36 months of the programme.

Magnesita is currently in the process of merging with RHI AG.
