Pakistan cement exporters have earned revenues of US$16.36m on exports of 309,868t cement in December 2016, compared to US$23.68m on 455,720t of exports in the previous month.
These figures represent a MoM decline in dollar value and volumes of 32 and 30 per cent, respectively.
However, when compared with December 2015 (434,967t with a value of US$22.89m), volumes decreased by 28.76 per cent and the value was down by 28.50 per cent, according to the country's Federal Bureau of Statistics.
In the first six months of the 2016-17 financial year (July-December 2016), Pakistani cement producers exported 2.79Mt of cement at a total value of US$145.65m, compared with 3.1Mt at US$170.43m in the equivalent period of the previous year. This represent a YoY retrenchment both in terms of value (-9.83 per cent) and volume (-14.54 per cent).
