Cement demand in Honduras is expected to rise by six per cent YoY in 2017 due to strong demand from road projects and housing.
“Cement consumption this year is expected to peak, I believe it will reach around 50m bags,when compared with last year, when 44m of bags were used. This year we will have a record consumption in the country’s modern history,” said the Vice President of the Honduran Council of Private Enterprise (COHEP), Juan Carlos Sikafi.
The Honduran central bank, BCH, predicts the construction market to grow by 5.8 per cent this year.
