Provisional figures released by a local research house indicate that Pakistan's cement dispatches in Augiust will see a growth of 12 per cent YoY. Total dispatches are expected to reach 4Mt for the month during the month amid low cement prices.

Both the north and southern regions are expected to record growth of 15 and 26 per cent YoY, respectively during August 2017 on the back of higher demands from infrastructure activities. However, export dispatches from the north and south are forecast to fall YoY by three per cent and 46 per cent, respectively.

In August 2017 leading company-wise dispatches show, local dispatches for Lucky Cement are expected to grow by 20 per cent YoY, DG Khan Cement wil be up by 18 per cent YoY, Cherat Cement up by 101 per cent YoY, and Fauji Cement is to see a growth of six per cent YoY.

However, export dispatches are forecast to decline. Lucky Cement wil see a fall of 48 per cent YoY, DG Khan Cement is expected to be down by nine per cent YoY, while Maple Leaf Cement is likely to be down by 41 per cent YoY, and Attock Cement down by down 21 per cent YoY, respectively.
