FLSmidth has signed a contract with the India Cements Ltd (ICL) for a new OK™ 52-4 cement mill  with ROKSH 82 separator for cement grinding to be installed at the Shankar Nagar plant, Tirunelveli district, Tamil Nadu, India.

FLSmidth will carry out the system engineering, procurement and supply machinery for a cement production capacity of 200tph OPC at 3500 Blaine. The supply also includes gear units from FLSmidth product company, MAAG® Gear.

"This contract reflects the strong relations we have had with the India Cements Ltd for almost a decade and our extensive knowledge in the region. We are happy to partner with them again. This order indicates our ability to offer productivity-enhancing solutions that minimises the environmental footprint and increases the energy efficiency of the plant operations," said Country Head of FLSmidth India, Carsten Riisberg Lund.

ICL is one of the leading cement producers in southern India with a total capacity of 15.5Mta. The implementation of the OK™ vertical mill will enable ICL to reduce its energy costs, as the new mill will replace the existing ball mills at the plant. FLSmidth estimates that the contract will be fully executed by the end of 2018.
