In October Argentina cement producers delivered 1,150,386t of cement, including exports, according to the Argentine cement producers association, AFCP. This represents a two per cent rise MoM and 23.2 per cent YoY. Of this total, domestic deliveries stood at 1,141,190t, up 23.3 per cent YoY, while exports increased 14.5 per cent YoY to 9196t. When compared with September 2016, domestic dispatches were up 1.8 per cent from 1,121,423t and exports 41.1 per cent from 6517t.
Domestic demand edged up 1.7 per cent MoM and 23.5 per cent YoY to 1,150,910t. This total includes 9720t of imports, which represents an increase of 63.6 per cent when compared with October 2016, when 5940t were imported. When compared with September 2017, imports fell four per cent from 10,122t.
For the first 10 months of 2017, total domestic demand reached 9,940,021t, an increase 12.1 per cent YoY. This included 65,894t of imports, a more than quadrupling of volumes when compared with October 2016 when 15,150t were imported.
The country’s producers dispatched 9,874,127t to the domestic market in 10M17, up 11.5 per cent when compared with 8,854,418t dispatched in 10M16. In addition, exports slipped 1.5 per cent to 59,761t against 60,660t in 10M16.
