Sonangol, Angola’s national fuel company, denied Friday that it had suspended oil supplies at the Fabrica de Cimento do Kwanza Sul (FCKS).

According to Sonangol, what is happening specifically with the FCKS is that the company does not have its own storage facilities to receive and do fuel oil distribution logistics.

This situation "threatens the arrival of fuel in the area of the plant, jeopardising the entire production process, including the production of clinker, cement raw material,” the fuel company said in a press release.

However, to address the issue, the oil company has said it made available land near the Luanda refinery to install fuel oil tanks in 2015. However, the cement plant has not implemented such plans yet.

"In a series of meetings between the oil company and the cement plant, aimed at overcoming the difficulties faced by the latter, Sonangol showed the total availability of FCKS fuel oil trucks at the Luanda refinery during at night, for the loading of fuel, despite the impact that this measure would have on its own operations ", added the document.
