The output of Iranian cement production facilities has fallen by 2.6 per cent YoY. Iran has produced 23.62Mt of cement within the first five months of this financial year, compared to the 24.25Mt produced during the corresponding period last year.
Trend News Agency reports that this fluctuation has been common in recent years. In 2014, Iran’s cement production fell by 33 per cent due to weak domestic consumption.
Between 2001 and 2017, Iran’s production capacity increased from 29.5Mt to 83Mt. Despite the issues with frequent shifts in production capacity, the Iranian administration plans to continue this upwards trajectory. The administration plans to have an output capacity of 120Mta by 2025.
