The demolition of Cementos Especiales de las Islas started on 20 December. Located on the northeastern boundary of Puerto-Ciudad, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, the cement plant was one of the few industrial facilities that remained in the area before the moving out of most industry.
The cement plant makes way for the area’s ambitious regeneration plan that will see the port be transformed into a recreation area for the population.
