LafargeHolcim plans to invest EUR100m in its Martres-Tolosane plant in southwest France. Aumund Fördertechnik GmbH and Aumund France SARL. has won the contract to supply a range of equipment for the plant until 2019, according to a press release by the company. The modernisation of the plant is part of a wider EUR300m investment across France.
Aumund Fördertechnik will be supplying belt bucket elevators to feed the heat exchanger and raw meal silo at the plant. Alongside this, two Aumund BWZ chain bucket elevators will be used to both transport raw meal and filter dust, and for the silo feed. The company will also supply a KZB pan conveyor with a vertical lift of nine metres, for use under the clinker cooler.
Furthermore, seven Louise-type drag chain conveyors with a capacity between 7-50tph will extract filter dust. Two 25-250tph Centrex® machines will be used to extract limestone, clay and iron ore from silos.
Construction work will begin in the final quarter of 2018 and is expected to be completed by mid-2020. Once the upgrades are finished, the plant will use alternative fuels as part of its environmental mission to reduce CO2 emissions and energy consumption.
