Pakistan exports revenue of cement during the first eight months of FY17-18, recorded a YoY fall of 13.4 per cent and 16.9 per cent in quantity and value in dollars, respectively, says data released by Federal Bureau of Statistics, Government of Pakistan.

The breakdown shows that the country exported 2.98Mt of cement and earned export revenue of US$149.71m in July 2017-February 2018 compared to 3.44Mt at US$180.13m in the corresponding months of the previous fiscal year.

In February 2018 alone, Pakistan exported 264,300t of cement at US$13.24m compared with 357,363t at US$17.788m in January 2018. Exports decreased by 26 per cent in terms of quantity and 25.9 per cent in terms of value MoM. However, when compared with data of February 2017 (229,749t at US$12.23m), exports saw a growth of 15 per cent and 8.2 per cent in terms of quantity YoY.

During July-February 2018, Pakistan exported 1.38Mt to Afghanistan and recorded a fall of 1.7 per cent. Similarly, export to India fell by 4.7 per cent to 783,086t and rest of the world by over 33 per cent.
