The Belarusian Architecture and Construction Ministry (BACM) has announced that US$400m of cement was traded between Belarus and Russia between 2014-2018. Anatoly Cherny, BACM minister, and Mikhail Skorokhod, president of Eurocement Group, met on Wednesday to discuss 1H18 results and future tasks, according to Belarus Daily News.

A bilateral document was signed in 2014 allowing Eurocement to sell Belarusian cement in Russia, fully satisfying the demand for the country’s cement on the Russian market.

"A lot has been done to create and advance strategic partnerships between the cement companies of Russia and Belarus over the last four years. Working groups have been set up to promptly address emerging issues relating to cement deliveries. The quality of merchandise has been stabilised. Cement producers have been audited. Technical regulation and standardisation at the level of the Eurasian Economic Union are being taken care of thanks to support of the cement manufacturers union Soyuzcement, which includes Russian and Belarusian cement mills," said Mikhail Skorokhod.
