Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Ltd, India, plans to double its cement manufacturing capacity in the east to 17Mta in 24 months at a total investment of INR35,000m (US$499m), said a top official according to The Hindu.
“Currently, we have four units operating in the east producing 8.5 million tonnes of cement annually,” said Mahendra Singhi, group CEO, cement and whole-time director, DCBL.
“As part of our expansion plan, we have decided to put up two new units in Odisha and one each in Bihar and West Bengal,” he explained.
The company will invest in new projects in Odisha and in Bihar, West Bengal, funded mainly through debt and internal resources.
