Senegal’s cement production increased by 188,500t, or 47.3 per cent to 587,300t in July 2018 when compared with July 2017 when 398,800t was produced, according to data compiled by the country’s cement plants. MoM output increased by 5.8 per cent from 555,000t in June 2018.
In the first seven months of 2018, output rose 4.8 per cent to 4,133,400t, up from 3,944,900t reported in 7M17. The rise has been attributed to a 31 per cent increase in domestic sales to 2,879,700t (7M17: 2,198,700t). Exports advanced by 28.4 per cent to 1,745,900t from 1,250,900t in 7M17.
