Cement production in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) at the end of June reached 377,980t, according to the country’s statistics office. This compares with an output of 376,342t in the same period of 2017.

Demand for cement in the DRC at the end of June rose 1.6 per cent YoY to 539,474t from 530,820t in 2017. Consumption is entirely being met by local production following a import ban. Any surplus of domestic output is exported to neighbouring countries.

The price of cement in the capital, Kinshasa is currently around US$9/50kg bag.
