Sri Lanka's cement production fell 3.2 per cent to 2.086Mt in the first nine months of 2018, but output picked up in September.
Total imports and production was flat at 6.204Mt in the first nine months of the year, against 6.229Mt a year earlier, reports the Central Bank.
In September domestic production rose by 11.4 per cent to 262,000t. Imports also increased by18 per cent to 909,000t during the month.
Sri Lanka's statistics office said the construction sector grew 2.5 per cent in real terms during the 3Q18, compared to a year earlier. Nominal growth was 7.5 per cent.
