Iran produced 41Mt of cement during the nine months to 21 December 2018, of which 4.8Mt were exported, reports the Iran Cement Association.
According to Iran Cement Association Secretary, Abdolreza Sheikhan, domestically-produced cement is currently priced at US$25-30/t in export markets, which indicates that export earnings amounted to US$120-144m for the reported period.
"Cement production during the nine months saw no significant change compared with the similar period of last year while exports of the product grew by two per cent in weight YoY. Afghanistan was our biggest export destination," said Mr Sheikhan.
