Payra Port Authority reschedules pre-bid meeting for coal/bulk terminal

Payra Port Authority (PPA), under the Bangladesh Ministry of Shipping has issued a  notice to reschedule a pre-bid meeting for development of a coal/bulk terminal at Payra Port ,Kalapara, Patuakhali, in southern Bangladesh.

The pre-bid meeting will now be held on 12 March 2019, says the port authority. The port authority earlier announced it was seeking the expertise of international experts or consortium to participate in proposed project. The successful bidders/consortium will design, build, finance, operate and maintain the coal/bulk terminal and subsequently transfer the terminal to Payra Port Authority based on the terms and conditions set out in the PPP contract.

Bangladeshi imports of coal are growing due to increase use in the power, cement and other sectors.
