Automation and control systems specialist CMR Philippines has won the contract to supply and install new power monitoring technology at Holcim Lugait cement works in Misamis Oriental, Philippines.

The project covers the development, delivery, installation, testing and networking of the electrical installation for a major new upgrade of power monitoring capabilities.
 
Current and voltage transformers are be supplied as part of a comprehensive package of engineering support that also sees CMR completing the integration and connection of plant wide power monitoring to Siemens PCS 7 process control technology.
 
The contract comes as Holcim Philippines is investing almost US$300m in increasing its production capacity across all its plants by 30 per cent to 13Mta by 2020.
 
This includes upgrading the Misamis Oriental site with the installation of new kilns, mills and waste heat recovery systems in a move to support the country’s economic development and robust construction sector. The Lugait plant currently produces 2.13 Mta of cement.
