Vessel laden with clinker arrested in Bangladesh

A foreign vessel laden with clinker was arrested in Bangladesh yesterday. No details immediately are available for the vessel's arrest. 



According to Chittagong Port Authority (CPA), the foreign flag bulk carrier 'Costas L' has been arrested as per orders of the local High Court dated 23 September 2019 in a litigation case at outer anchorage of Chittagong port.

The ship was carrying 42,629t of clinker for the cement industry, arrived from Singapore at the port, on 8 September and was arrested.

 Bangladesh imports a huge quantity of this raw material from overseas to meet the demands of the local cement industry.
