Puerto Rican cement sales fell 7.4 per cent in September 2019 when compared with the previous year. A total of 1.02m of 42.5kg bags, or 43,350t was sold on the domestic market, according to Sin Comillas.
The latest drop in sales represents the eighth-consecutive month of market contraction. Sales have fallen since February after a 13-month period of consecutive increases.
Local cement output edged up one per cent in September 2019 when compared with September 2018. Domestic production rose to 40,928t, the third rise in nine months.
