A consignment of 2500t of cement was exported by Qesh cement plant, Hormozgan, Iran, to Somalia, according to Hormuz Amiri, head of development and trade at Qeshm Free Trade Zone.
This is the fifth cargo exported since 21 March 2019, the start of the Iranian year. To date, 104,000t of clinker have been exported from Qeshm to the UAE.
Established in 2000, the Qesh cement plant produces 1400tpd and exports to 13 African and Asian countries, including Egypt, India, Iraq, Kuwait, Oman, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and the UAE.
