Vietnam exported 3.58Mt of cement in October at a value of US$141.62m, representing an increase of 24.9 per cent and 17 per cent YoY, respectively, according to the General Department of Vietnam Customs. During the month, the average price of exports decreased 0.7 per cent MoM and 6.3 per cent YoY to US$39.6/t.
In the first 10 months of 2019, the country exported 26.9Mt of cement worth US$1.12bn, up 2.6 per cent YoY in volume and 10.5 per cent in value. Average prices also increased 7.7 per cent to US$41.5/t in the 10M19.
In the January-October period, China was the biggest market for Vietnamese cement, importing 11.86Mt at a value of US$451.02m, up 55.7 per cent YoY in volume and 62.9 per cent in value. The price of cement exported to China rose 4.7 per cent YoY to US$38.02/t.
Other large markets included the ASEAN with 5.67Mt worth US$286.91m, down 13.9 per cent YoY in volume and 4.9 per cent in value, and the Philippines with 4.5Mt at US$228.64m, according to the customs data.
