Cement sales in Puerto Rico slipped 2.9 per cent to 46,236.3t (1.084m bags of 42.6kg) in November 2019 when compared with November 2018, when 47,630.6t (1.117m bags) were sold, according to data released by the Economic Development Bank of Puerto Rico.
Output from Puerto Rican cement plants increased by 27 per cent in November 2019 to 46,760.7t (1.097m bags) from 36,821.9t (0.864m bags) in the year-ago period.
In the January-November 2019 period, domestic cement sales decreased 6.3 per cent to 531,435t (12.466m bags) from 567,049t (12.269m bags) in the 11M18.
Production in Puerto Rico declined 7.7 per cent YoY from 523,040t (12.269m bags) in the 11M18 to 482,612t (11.321m bags) between January-November 2019.
